Where Hope Learns a New Skill
One of the things that inspires is most is watching someone discover what they are capable of.
Child Care Foundation Uganda believes that every child, person with a disability (PWD), single mothers and widow deserves a fair chance to live a safe, healthy, and meaningful life. We support vulnerable people through education, healthcare, Outreach Program, Wash Program, and economic empowerment, providing care that is personal, respectful and community-centered.
Our work is guided by our “One Child at a Time” approach. This means we understand each person’s situation, strengths and challenges and respond with the right support. Through this approach, we help break cycles of hardship, neglect and abuse, while building confidence and self-reliance.
We run programs that create real and lasting change. These include trauma-informed care for vulnerable children, vocational and skills training for women, healthcare outreach, and livelihood support for families. Our focus is not only on meeting urgent needs but also on giving people practical skills and opportunities to support themselves.
At Child Care Foundation Uganda, we believe true change begins with personal attention and trust. Our goal is to empower individuals to stand strong, support their families and become positive leaders in their communities. With the support of our partners and local communities, we are building hope, dignity and a brighter futurene.

Across Uganda, many young people are carrying the weight of survival before they even get the chance to dream.

Some dreams don’t start with big moments. They begin quietly in small rooms, in villages, in crowded homes where someone is thinking deeply about a better future. A young person wondering how they will afford school. A single mother planning how to provide for her children. A person with a disability holding onto hope in a world that often moves too fast to notice them. These dreams are real but they are often held back not by lack of ability, but by lack of opportunity.

In many classrooms, a child may sit quietly, withdrawn, or overwhelmed. Not because they are unwilling to learn, but because the environment around them feels too loud, too fast, or too difficult to process.

There are stories carried in silence, stories of responsibility taken on too early, of strength built through hardship and of resilience that grows in the absence of support. Across the eastern communities in Uganda, countless women wake up each day not only as caregivers but as providers, protectors and decision-makers for their families.

At ChildCare Foundation, we believe economic empowerment is a powerful pathway out of poverty. When women are given access to practical skills, mentorship, and the right tools, they move from dependence to independence from uncertainty to stability.
